FAQ and CLOTHING LIST

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How Can I Prepare My Child For Overnight Camp?

Write often! Send your son a letter before he leaves to camp so there will be mail awaiting him. An overnight away from home at a grandparent’s or friend’s home can be a helpful experience for the child who has never slept away from home.

2. Who Helps My Son If He Has A Problem?

Upon arrival at camp there is a camper orientation. Everyone is taken on a tour of the campus and all building locations are pointed out e.g. Office, Dining Room, Shul, Gym, Special Activities Bldg, etc. All staff members are introduced and campers are told who they can approach if they need help e.g. Head Counselor, Nurse, Camp Mom, etc.

3. How often is laundry done?

Campers’ laundry is done once a week, or as needed.

4. Are Visitors Allowed?

No one under any circumstances will be permitted to enter camp grounds on any day besides visiting day. Unauthorized visits by parents, relatives or friends are not allowed. Failure to comply with this rule will invalidate your sons right to remain in camp. Tuition will not be refunded.

5. Are There Any Trips?

There is generally a weekly trip during the summer. There is no additional fee for off campus trips.

6. What Are Some Of The Daily Activities?

Sports: Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, Volleyball, Soccer, Football,
Wilderness:
Hiking, Nature Waterfront, Swimming, boating, Woodworking, Arts & Crafts, and baking.

Clothing List

The following is a suggested clothing list for your child’s stay at camp. We recommend you refrain from sending excessive amounts of clothing, or outfits requiring special care. Laundry service is provided at no additional fee. It is of utmost importance that every article brought to camp be labeled. It is preferable to sew on labels; iron-on labels fall off in the wash and laundry marking inks tend to fade. We recommend you securely attach a copy of this list to your child’s luggage, so he will have a list of all items brought to camp.

Please Note: For those children with any nighttime problems, extra sheets and blankets should be sent along.
